Create nested modellings

The nested modelling function enables you to employ one project to model another. This facilitates the creation of component libraries, which are valuable for modeling various projects using the same components. It can be utilized, for instance, to model replacement components or components frequently employed in the product range.

1. Create a new project: activate the function making the main modelling accessible to other projects

If you did not activate the function you can still do it from the project’s dashboard. From there, you can see the list of variants that can also be used as the reference modelling.

2. Using an existing project as a component

• From the bill of material: when you add a new component, click on the function nesting a modelling and select the project that will be used as a component.

• From the LCA use phase: add a consumable and select a project that can be used as a component.

Nesting modelling is also available when creating variants.

3. You will have access to the nested project’s impacts in the results section.
