What are the normalization, weighting and single score factors?
Normalization and weighting factors are applied to calculate the factors of the Single score (expressed in micropoints (µPt)). They can be consulted on the European Commission website.
The following formula is used for each impact category:
1 / Normalization factor * Weighting factor / 1 000 000
Here is an example of how to calculate the single Score factor for Climate change using the factors of package EF3.1:
1 / 7553,08316285117 * 0,2106 / 1 000 000 = 27,8826534091148
µPt
Please note:
- The normalization factor (7553.083...) is used as a coefficient. Therefore, we take the inverse: 1 ÷ 7553.083...
- To convert points (Pt) into micropoints (µPt), it is necessary to divide the equation by 1 000 000.
